Cuban Mikes' is a culmination of opportunity, experience preparedness and luck. Michael Zacarias is a first generation Cuban-American born in Miami in 1980. He was literally born right into the restaurant business as when he made his grand entrance into the world, his grandparents had already opened their second restaurant.
Mike's grandfather was the businessman, the "brains", and his grandmother, Oria (Mimi), was the chef. She was born in Spain and moved to Cuba in the late 1930's where she was raised and immersed in the Cuban culture. She discovered her passion for cooking Cuban food. When Mike’s Grandfather passed away in 1991, the Zacarias family had owned three Cuban restaurants.
Cuban Mike started his first restaurant job at 14 years and he has never looked back. He has a total of 20 years experience working in the food service industry. All of Cuban Mike's recipes have been handed down through multiple generations and fine-tuned for today’s palates.
